Our Strategy
Five pillars
Jathwa's approach rests on five connected commitments. They run in order: we document before we educate, educate before we empower, and connect last.
01
Document
Jathwa is committed to rigorous and responsible documentation of human-rights developments, international-law issues, alleged violations, conflict-related developments, and issues affecting vulnerable communities. Our work places emphasis on methodology, verification, accuracy and responsible documentation.
02
Educate
Jathwa develops accessible and practical programmes that help individuals better understand human rights, international relations, strategic affairs, media and law. We seek to make complex subjects more accessible while encouraging informed and critical thinking.
03
Empower
Jathwa works to build the knowledge, skills and capacities of young journalists, young lawyers, young professionals and civil-society actors. Through training and learning opportunities, we aim to equip the next generation to engage confidently and responsibly in their fields.
04
Engage
Jathwa creates spaces for meaningful discussion, exchange and critical thinking through public seminars, roundtables, webinars, workshops, conferences, youth dialogues and expert discussions. We believe that informed dialogue is essential to understanding complex issues and building stronger communities.
05
Connect
Jathwa builds bridges between young professionals, academics, journalists, lawyers, researchers, civil-society organisations and international institutions. By creating meaningful networks and opportunities for exchange, we seek to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing and professional growth.
What we stand for
Knowledge. Rights. Empowerment.
